    Responsibilities

    DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:

     

    Support, develop, maintain and enhance existing database applications for FAA approved Reliability Program. Create customized computing solutions for time-sensitive, ad-hoc analysis when needed. Engage in trial / proof of concept initiatives for new software solutions. Act as a resource to ensure effective communications between Technology and Reliability.

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Review and audit daily update process
    • Develop customized computing solutions to aid in data access and presentations
    • Identify opportunities for continuous improvements in efficiency, accuracy and reliability of Department applications
    • Maintain and enhance existing applications
    • Develop self-service applications for broad consumption
    • Work closely with Reliability, Engineering, and Maintenance Programs to support Reliability Program and aircraft performance related requests
    • Analyze and resolve problems of medium complexity
    • Communicate problems or issues in a timely manner
    • Be a resource to assist other team members in their analysis

    Qualifications

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.

     

    Must be at least 18 years of age.

     

    Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

     

    EDUCATION:

     

    Progress towards a STEM-related degree preferably with coursework in Computer Science.

     

    Minimum junior level.

     

    To be eligible must be currently enrolled as a full-time student (minimum 12 credit hours).

     

    Maintained 3.0 or above cumulative GPA.

      

    EXPERIENCE:

     

    Prior experience with data manipulation, processing, and validation preferred

     

    Projects involving working with large data sets preferred

     

    Experience working individually as well as in a Team environment

     

    SKILLS/ABILITIES/KNOWLEDGE/WORK STYLE:

     

    • Must possess strong technical skills such as analytics, statistical and trend analysis, and data mining
    • Prefer ability to blend data from multiple sources into usable information that can be consumed by a variety of audiences
    • Prefer proficiency in communications, data processing, and project management software applications. Examples include Microsoft Office, Alteryx, Tableau, SQL, etc.
    • Ability to develop an understanding of the characteristics of maintenance data in order to identify problems, validate query results, and develop testing scripts
    • Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of team members
    • Organize and balance multiple concurrent initiatives/assignments while maintaining a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and timely delivery.

    • Must be able to visualize, articulate, and condense complex issues into concise, easily understood updates and/or presentations.

    • Effectively manage multiple projects and deliver high quality results under tight time constraints and/or while dealing with competing priorities.
