Here are some examples of the types of taxes that the Team is responsible for handling (including tax planning, tax research, tax compliance, and managing any associated audits) in each international, U.S. domestic, state, and local taxing jurisdiction served by SWA:

    • Income Tax
    • Excise Tax
    • Franchise Tax
    • Property Tax
    • Sales & Use Tax
    • Value-Added Tax (“VAT”)
    • Fuel Tax
    • Liquor Tax
    • Customs, APHIS, & Immigration Taxes
    • TSA Security Fees
    • Information Reporting (1099s, 1042s, etc.), and
    • Unclaimed Property Reporting.

The SWA Tax Team places an emphasis on the development and growth of its Employees.  Training and cross-training are key to the department’s ultimate success.  Each year, numerous training opportunities are extended to each and every member of the Team.   We strive, continuously, to improve our processes and to increase productivity.  We encourage all of our Employees to share ideas and to think strategically.  We truly value the contributions of each member of our Team, and we enjoy celebrating our successes throughout the year, in addition to participating in giving back to the communities that SWA serves.
