DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Intern will assist in the visual design and development of training assets and courses for the Southwest Airlines University Department. Deliverables may include illustrations (both technical and cartoon), digitally enhanced photography, user interface design, print layout and 2D mediums.
This will be a Multimedia position with a concentration on the following:
Graphic Design Concentration:
Works with developers to illustrate or transform graphics to be integrated into learning solutions deliverables.
Make ideas understandable through the use of images, text and color.
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
Qualified applicants must have completed two years (or four semesters) towards an Associates, Bachelors or Related Degree Program in: Graphic Design, Art, Web Design, Visual Communication, Design Communication, or a corresponding degree by the internship start date.
To be eligible must be currently enrolled as a full time student (minimum 12 credit hours).
Minimum Junior level.
Maintained 2.75 or above cumulative GPA.
Knowledge of color theory and layout aesthetics preferred.
Ability to work independently and the willingness to function as a part of a Team.
Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and complete assignments with tight deadlines.
Oral and written communication skills.
Strong artistic ability required
Experience in Graphic Design preferred
Experience in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash, and InDesign preferred
Experience in multimedia or digital media preferred.
Strong interest in Training as a career is a plus.
Experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).
