Responsibilities

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

The Intern will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks including auditing, researching,   documentation analysis and reporting on aircraft maintenance records to ensure compliance with both SWA aircraft maintenance program and FAA regulations. 

 

This department is very technology driven so knowledge of Electronic Document Management and ERP technologies is preferred.

 

Interns will also be responsible for special projects similar to:

 

Component history data analysis to ensure accurate life cycle documentation and FAR 26 compliance status

 

Audit of historical aircraft records to ensure compliance with 14 CFR 121.380 required by SWA for all aircraft transfer activities

 

Assist in the development of procedures and user training materials in support of ERP implementation and Digital Document Management programs

 

Create data gathering and reporting tools for collection of aircraft maintenance records document error analysis

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

 

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required. 

 

Must be at least 18 years of age.

 

Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

 

EDUCATION:

 

Progress toward undergraduate in Aviation Maintenance, Airline Management Administration, Aviation Law, Computer Science, Information Systems, Aviation,  or IT Related Field

 

Minimum level accepted: Sophomore.

 

Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student (minimum 12 credit hours.)

 

Must be maintaining an overall GPA of 2.75.

 

SKILLS/ABILITIES/KNOWLEDGE/WORK STYLE:

 

Excellent analytical and organizational skills required.  

 

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and advanced features required.

 

Coursework in Airline Regulatory Compliance is preferred

 

Experience with the development of Training Materials in an education or work setting is preferred.

 

Ability to stay organized and manage multiple and concurrent assignments.

 

Works well in a culture that is open, direct, respectful, courteous and compassionate.

 

Quick learner, self-motivated, team oriented, with a sense of humor.
