DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Intern will work full-time as a Software Engineer within the Technology Department.
Analyze, design, write program code, test, document, and implement functionally appropriately, technically sound, and well-integrated application systems in accordance with Customer requirements, and organizational methodologies and standards.
Respond to production problems and implement immediate resolution efforts across technology areas.
Scope of work varies depending on the Team assignment.
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
Progress toward undergraduate or graduate degree in Business, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or Information Technology, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering or related degree required.
Minimum level accepted: Junior
Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student (minimum 12 credit hours).
Maintained 3.0 or above cumulative GPA.
Coursework must include computer science fundamentals, programming languages, and related technical studies.
Classroom and/or industry experience using at least one programming language.
Previous internship or work experience as a Software Engineer, Developer, or Architect within the past 12 months preferred.
Involvement in Software Development clubs a plus.
Project management skills (including principles, timelines, and budgets) are a plus.
Basic knowledge of development methodologies, practices, concepts, technologies and technical options
Ability to analyze technical problems, articulate the root problem, and translate the analysis into viable solutions
Demonstrate programming aptitude and ability for logical and abstract thinking.
Facilitate or complete Analysis, design, and programming of viable solutions to high complexity business problems according to user specifications.
Participate in system and acceptance testing.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
Exposure to Agile methodologies preferred.
Problem solving ability and strong written/verbal communications skills.
Ability to stay organized and manage multiple and concurrent assignments under tight deadlines.
Works well in a culture that is open, direct, respectful, courteous and compassionate.
Quick learner, self-motivated, team oriented, with a sense of humor.
