The Intern will support the WiFi/Inflight (IFE) Entertainment Team. This Team sits within the Marketing Department and is responsible for the commercial and Customer aspects of inflight WiFi and entertainment onboard aircraft through Customers’ personal electronic devices. The Team works closely with not only internal contacts, but also with frequent vendor communication as well.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Intern will be exposed to digital and product marketing planning including concept ideation, development, launch, and ongoing maintenance. Possible projects include but are not limited to: WiFi connectivity, live TV, movies, and general portal design.
Assist with online reporting & analysis, website optimization, and merchandising development.
Coordinate communication efforts, primarily with vendors, to manage schedules and roadmaps as well as issue tracking.
Attend cross-functional meetings.
Work closely with other Departments within Southwest Airlines.
Some travel possible (if time allows).
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
Progress towards degree with major or minor in Marketing, Business, Social Science, Advertising, Communications, or related field required.
Minimum junior level.
To be eligible must be currently enrolled as a full-time student (minimum 12 credit hours).
Maintained 3.0 or above cumulative GPA required.
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Must have Excel & PowerPoint experience).
Previous part-time work experience or previous internship preferred.
Experience with Marketing capstone course, on campus marketing-related job, and/or marketing internship a plus.
Membership in an organization or club related to Marketing/Business is preferred.
Must be able to maintain confidential information.
Must be willing to contribute during brainstorming sessions, and actively participate from concept to execution.
Must have passion for product management.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and the willingness to function as a part of a Team.
Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and complete assignments with tight deadlines.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be a self starter.
Must be detailed oriented.
