Responsibilities

The Ground Operations Team supports our Customer’s journey from the time they arrive at the airport, all the way until the Customers deplane and their bags are unloaded.

The Employee Care Specialist provides support for our Ground Operations Employees by serving as a liaison between department Employees and Leaders, and by working with the Company's Internal Customer Care Team to ensure appropriate care of our Employees.

 

The Employee Specialist Intern will assist this department with a variety of responsibilities including, but not limited to:

  • Maintain/Monitor regular contact with Employees who are out on a leave of absence (medical, maternity, OJI, military, etc).
  • Maintain databases to record, monitor, and contact Employees who recently have had significant events occur in their lives
  • Serve as liaison for these Employees and assist them in finding answers and/or resolution to questions/issues
  • Event planning and organizing for outreach events and other special events
  • Gather and organize necessary information, documentation, or relevant facts needed by Leaders who are investigating or providing followup on various issues and inquiries
  • Perform research, reporting, special projects, and tasks as directed

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.

 

Must be at least 18 years of age.

 

To be eligible must be currently enrolled as a fulltime student at time of application (minimum of 12 credit hours)

 

Minimum of Junior level by hours (60+) at the start of the internship

 

Minimum of a 2.75 or above cumulative GPA

 

Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986

 

Education:

 

Progress towards degree in Aviation management, Communications, Event Planning, Journalism,  or other Business related degree.

Skills:

  • Problem solving ability with strong written/verbal communications skills
  • Strong business writing skills preferred
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Suite package preferred
  • Knowledge of Quickbase preferred
  • Customer Service & event planning experience preferred
  • Self-starter, critical thinker and innovator of ideas that could lower cost and increase value for SWA
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and complete assignments with tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and willingness to function as part of a Team

TIME COMMITMENT:

 

Full-time - 40 hours per week

 

PAY:

$15.00 per hour + flight privileges
