Responsibilities

OVERVIEW:

The Maintenance Operations Support team consists of, International logistics and On-Call provider support, Aircraft On Ground (AOG) materials support, and the reporting and monitoring of MOC department performance.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

This internship is designed to support the Maintenance Operations Center principally within International Operations, AOG (Aircraft On Ground) Supply Chain Support, and overall process development and improvement.

 

In this position the intern may have the opportunity to:

 

Assist with process validations, process mapping, outstation audit procedures and the use 5S and/or Lean Six Sigma process improvement methodologies.

 

Assist with reviewing and/or modifying related policies and procedures within the MOC support teams.

 

Interact directly with outsourced maintenance providers, and other Airlines to establish and execute agreements and compliance paperwork.

 

As part of this job, the intern may be required to assist with a variety of projects related to international operations and logistics.  Perform analysis/research to define project goals, reporting infrastructure and products/projects.

  • Assists with project management tasks (i.e., status tracking and reporting, meeting facilitation, issue documentation, follow-ups
  • Assists with development of training plan and materials as part of a larger change management program.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

 

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.

 

Must be at least 18 years of age.

 

Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

 

EDUCATION:

 

Progress towards degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or relevant Aviation degree program.

 

Minimum junior level.

 

To be eligible must be currently enrolled as a full time student (minimum 12 credit hours).

 

Maintained 2.75 or above cumulative GPA.

 

SKILLS/ABILITIES/KNOWLEDGE/WORK STYLE:

  • Strong database management skills preferred (Excel, Access, or similar)
  • Basic understanding of root cause, risk analysis, and/or trend analysis.
  • Self-starter, critical thinker and innovator of ideas that could lower cost and increase value for SWA
  • Ability to read contract language and excel data sheets for critical analysis.
  • Aviation background and enthusiasm preferred

TIME COMMITMENT:

 

Full-time - 40 hours per week

 

PAY:

 

$15.00 per hour + flight privileges
