Conduct research and handle special projects as assigned by Leadership to support the goals and objectives of Benefits initiatives including health, wellness and other benefits.
Prepare blog postings, press releases, digital signs, memos, and letters.
Edit and proofread Company material.
Serve as communication liaison to SWA Benefits Experts.
Organize materials for meetings, presentations or reports.
Supports the development of Benefits Strategy by developing a communication campaign that creates action/engages Employees and which will include determining the effectiveness of the campaign over time..
Potential projects include, but are not limited to: data gathering, researching best practices, editing written documents, etc.
Communicate with Internal/External Customers via personal contact, telephone, and written correspondence.
Attend cross-functional meetings as needed.
Complete special projects as needed.
Assist with strategic communications planning.
Possible travel involved.
Assist with various communication process improvements for Benefits group.
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
Progress towards degree in HR Management, Health Promotions, Communications or Business related major/minor.
Minimum sophomore level.
Must be a full time student (12 credit hours) to be eligible.
Maintained 2.75 or above cumulative GPA.
Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Must possess a strong proficiency of the English language, including superior grammar, spelling, and organizational skills.
Possess an understanding of how people use communication channels to obtain health, wellness and retirement information.
Communications or health promotions work experience preferred (part-time jobs, internship, etc.)
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.)
Ability to work independently and the willingness to function as a part of a Team.
Ability to stay organized and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Problem solving ability and strong written/verbal communication skills.
Involvement in campus organizations, clubs, or extracurricular activities preferred.
Works well in a culture that is open, direct, respectful, courteous, and compassionate.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
Knowledge of health benefits preferred.
