Responsibilities

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct research and handle special projects as assigned by Leadership to support the goals and objectives of Wellness initiatives.

 

Research literature and organizations to determine wellness programs that have been successful.

 

Compare Southwest Airlines’ Wellness programs to other wellness programs to determine elements which may be incorporated into Southwest Airlines’ Wellness approach.

 

Review previous communications and make recommendations on future communications regarding Wellness programs.

Assist in the development and distribution of promotional material, newsletters and maintenance of the wellness web page.

Assist with workshops, event planning, and organize materials for meetings, presentations or reports.

 

Promote and assist with logistics of currently planned programs and help to implement and track on-going programs to maximize participation.

 

Create and design wellness programs from development to evaluation.

 

Recruit individuals to participate in Wellness programs.

 

Conduct needs assessment or analysis on health data collected through research.

 

Communicate with Internal/External Customers via personal contact, telephone, and written correspondence.

 

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

 

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.

 

Must be at least 18 years of age.

 

Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

 

EDUCATION:

 

Progress towards degree, major, or minor in Corporate Health Promotion/Education, Public Health, Nutrition, Dietetics, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field required.

 

Minimum junior level.

 

Must be a full time student (12 credit hours) to be eligible.

 

Maintained 2.5 or above cumulative GPA.

 

EXPERIENCE:

 

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

 

Previous health promotion experience preferred (primarily programming and evaluation of programs).

 

Project management or leadership experience preferred.

 

Public speaking and/or event planning experience preferred.

 

Ability to work independently and the willingness to function as a part of a Team.

 

Ability to stay organized and manage multiple tasks effectively.

 

Problem solving ability and strong written/verbal communication skills.

 

Works well in a culture that is open, direct, respectful, courteous, and compassionate.

 

Must be able to maintain confidentiality.

Frequent Travel is required for this position.

 

PAY:

 

$15.00 hourly + flight privileges
